The Red-winged Blackbirds are back from their migration, I can see them daily. I’m sure they must be hungry from their long trip. The do have a great apetite, which are famous for.

This little good looking woodpecker is always welcome, I can hear their pecking the barks of the trees almost daily.

  1. I like Downies, with their rat-tat-tat as well as the Red-wing Blackbirds, singing their hearts out. There have been sightings of Mountain Bluebirds south of here, but with a dump of snow and a drop in temperature, I fear they won’t survive. Fingers crossed.

    • The Eastern Bluebirds should be showing their faces in my backyard very soon. I hope that your Mountain Bluebirds do alright. Thanks, Jane. 🙂

  2. Our fence borders on a small creek, and yesterday I was trying to count how many Redwings were singing! I gave up at 7, I can hear more than I can see!
And out Downies come to our feeder on the porch, grabbing bits of suet even when we’re sitting within a few feet. So pretty!
